The Volvo E4 System — What It Is and Why It Matters

Installed in August 2025 under Volvo Penta’s factory warranty (two-year coverage active), the EVC-E4 (Electronic Vessel Control, 4th generation) is Volvo Penta’s current-generation integrated control platform — the same architecture going into brand-new IPS yachts today.

-Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) capability — the boat can hold a precise GPS location and heading hands-off, ideal for waiting on a bridge, a fuel dock, or a slip.

-Autopilot, cruise control, single-lever mode, and PowerTrim Assist built into the base E4 software.

-Full engine and drivetrain monitoring and diagnostics through a clean, modern glass-cockpit display.
