Description

"Defiance" is a beautiful, well maintained and upgraded 2004 Jeanneau 37 Sun Odyssey. She boasts new custom roller furling Mainsail, Genoa and Canvas all built by Mills. She is equipped with recent B&G GPS/Radar, and200 watts of solar power. Her Yanmar diesel has only 1069 hours of use. Her owner has reluctantly placed her for sale as he has decided to relocate to his ranch in Oklahoma permanently. Hull and Deck

Designed by Jacques Fauroux and the Jeanneau design team the hull is solid, hand-laid fiberglass using Vinylester resin with Kevlar reinforcements in high-load areas surrounding the keel and mast step. The rudder is made of fiberglass with a stainless steel stock. The rudder shaft is adjusted by two self-aligning bearings. The deck is laid up with fiberglass cloth and cored with balsa, except in high-load areas, which are solid fiberglass. All the running rigging lines lead aft to the cockpit using turning blocks to sheet stoppers mounted on the cabin top with two Harken 32 two-speed, self-tailing winches. This allows all sail handling to be done from the safety of the cockpit. The Genoa primary winches are Harken44 two-speed, self-tailing. The large steering pedestal incorporates a leather wrapped wheel, the B&G GPS/Chart-plotter/Radar display as well as the B&G autopilot and tri-data instruments. Also at the pedestal is the Raymarine wind instrument and anchor windlass control. The sugar scoop transom with walk through and swim ladder allows for easy boarding from the water or dinghy.
