Description
This is a lovely Sabre MKII Express cruiser. The present owners have painstakingly refurbished every inch of this vessel. She is virtually a new boat in an '02 hull. There is quite a story behind this project that started in 2007 and now in 2022, she has just been launched and sea trialed, but for now, here are some highlights;
- Engines have been pulled and refurbished by Yanmar dealer in 2010
- All the electrical wiring, circuit breakers and associated switches/controls have been replaced per Sabre manufactured specs.
- New washdown, AC water, freshwater pumps and city water port
- All new domestic water hoses
- New water heater
- New Heart Freedom inverter/charger
- Newly installed and refurbished Northern Lights 5KW generator w/new muffler and soundshield system
- All lighting converted to LED to include external deck courtesy lighting
- A brand new Ice maker has been added to the cockpit
As with all the Sabre Yachts, she has a Traditional Down East design that offers speed and comfort, whether you spend the day or a week aboard. Her wide side decks allow the transition from cockpit to the foredeck in complete safety and security, even in rough seas. The large diameter rails and teak toe rails add to the safety on her foredeck. All this with her Flag Blue hull, stainless steel windshield and teak accents make her stand out where ever she goes.

Overview
Accommodations
Below deck she is warm and inviting. Starting forward is the master cabin with large athwartships V-berth with filler. With the filler removed it allows for plenty of room to move around and get dressed. Here the owners have replaced the headliner and added custom Cherry wall treatment. Solid cherry cabinetry and louvered locker doors with Ash ceiling strips line the hull sides. Private access to the head from the stateroom. A built-in Ocean Air screen and shade have been added to the overhead hatch in the stateroom, that coupled with the opening Stainless steel ports allow for excellent ventilation. Custom V-berth spread.
Moving aft you enter the Main Salon. Here again one will find the lovely Cherry cabinetry on the bulkheads, hull sides, cabinets, doors with beautiful teak and holly sole. Lovely light beige Ultra-leather upholstery with navy piping for the U-shaped dinette. The dinette is to starboard and can convert to an addition double berth. To port is the U-shaped galley complete with all one needs for extended cruising. The light Corian counters compliment the light Ultra-leather on the dinette. There is additional access to the head. The head is white Formica for easy cleaning with a corian sink, teak grate on the floor, Ocean Air screen on the overhead hatch and stainless steel opening port. The salon has another hatch with the Ocean Air screen and shade. A second hatch is over the galley and 6 additional stainless steel opening ports in the cabin sides.
Up several steps to the bridge deck. The helm is to starboard with Pompanette helm seat with teak back and an L-shaped dinette to port. She was somewhat customized when built for the original owner and offers additional sleeping on the bridge deck with her convertible L-shaped settee. Custom Teak bridge deck table. Large stainless steel windshield with opening center window and large side windows. Canvas bimini with side curtains and back curtain with zip out door for complete enclosure of the bridge deck.
Her cockpit is very large with an opening transom door that leads to the teak swim platform with telescoping swim ladder. The aft canvas door is to starboard with a custom installed Ice maker and an aft facing seat is to port. There is plenty of room for folding chairs and side tables. Built-in fiberglass steps both port and starboard lead to her wide side decks. Three opening hatches allow access to her generator as well as tanks and storage. Engine access is via a hatch in the Bridge deck. If absolutely needed, the whole bridge deck can come up. Which is exactly what was done when her engines were re-moved for re-build.

The water has always been a part of my life since learning to sail aboard a Sailfish while vacationing in Chatham, Massachusetts. At twelve, I graduated to Penguins and 420âs at the Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford, Maryland. My parents always belonged to the Corinthian Yacht Club in Philadelphia and I often accompanied them on cruises aboard a Hinckley Bermuda 40 that we cruised in the Chesapeake.
Understanding banking after working 12 years for Loyola Savings and Loan of Maryland, I helped navigate the purchase of a 32â Pearson Vanguard for a friend and taught him to sail. Loving the idea of sharing my passion for boating, I joined Oxford Boatyard Yacht Sales (in what is now Safe Harbor Oxford Boatyard and Marina) in 1990 and worked as a broker and office manager for 25 years.Â
In 1993, Oxford Boatyard Yacht Sales became a dealer for Sabre and Back Cove Motor Yachts and I acquired an understanding and respect for powerboats. I worked closely with the boatyard commissioning new vessels and working as a liaison between new owners and the marina. I have an intimate understanding of the boat buying process - how to guide new owners through surveys, sea trials, registration, and documentation.Â
I love all boats and each one has its own quality. Though I would consider myself a traditionalist in boat design, I like what the new designs offer in comfort and ability.Â
Â
My husband (of 30 years) and I live in Easton, Maryland. My husband is the rigging supervisor at Safe Harbor Oxford Boatyard and our daughter, having graduated from Washington College in 2020, is now teaching English as well as coaching the sailing team at the Gunston School in Centreville, Md. She has recently come on board as the Summer Sailing Director with the Tred Avon Yacht Club.
Â
I am starting my 7th year as a broker with Brewer Yacht Sales and in addition to my office at Safe Harbor Zahniserâs in Solomonâs, Maryland I now have an office at Safe Harbor Oxford. This enables me to cover the territory from the Eastern Shore to Solomonâs Island and everything in between.Â
Â
I look forward to speaking with you and sharing my passion for boats. Let me help you find the perfect yacht or support and guide you in the sale of your existing vessel!
