The 180 is a remake of one of their first craft made 50 years ago. The look is distinctively the same and dramatically modern, thanks to the way designers pulled the chines up toward the stem beginning just forward of the centerline. The effect keeps the wide, dry bow area for which Whalers are known, but softens the ride with a sharper entry.
The Dauntless crushes three-foot boat wakes as sport-fishers and long-range cruisers plie the channel, riding high over them and shipping no water or spray. Nice.
Part of the Dauntless? rugged appeal also comes from the minimalist interior style. A fold-down aft bench seat opens the cockpit for angling or seats four when cruising. Forward, a casting platform can be equipped with optional bow cushions.
The 180 Dauntless is a classic.
This 2003 model is well cared for and shows well. She is equipped with a brand-new Garmin touch screen GPS map and fish finder. She has an upgraded top of the line Fusion head unit and JL amp, 4 speakers and a 10' JL sub. All the seating cushions, including the bow cushion were all replaced last year. Also have the optional removeable solid fiberglass full platform and cushion for sunbathing. A full aluminum T top was added with storage bag, LED lighting, rocket launchers and a powerful aft cockpit light. She also has brand new dua. batteries. The motor was just serviced, new water pump, lower unit fluid change and tune. She is ready to go!
The Trailer was completely overhauled 2 years ago, 4 new tires, new winch, spare tire, lights, jack, guide poles and surge brakes were removed.
