Steal Away a 2003 Alerion 28 an elegant day sailer / racer that is a Carl Schumacher design that causes sailors to instinctively pause and admire her classic lines. The Alerion dellivers outstanding performance under sail and is designed to be easily single handed.
Overview
The Alerion 28 Express descends from the lines of Nathanial Herreshoff's 26 Alerion III with a modern touch. She is designed as a daysailer/racer with an easy-to-handle sail plan and a cockpit for several people. The interior amenities are basic, with V berth forward and two side sets that can be day bunks. Located to starboard is a sink with a cabinet, and to port is an electrical panel and electronics. The cabin floor is teak and holly replaced in 2020. The main and jib sails were replaced with North Sails (2020), and the sheets and halyards are in good condition. She is powered by a Volvo Penta Diesel sail drive. The large aft cockpit accommodates family and friends for those great sailing days on the water.
