The Hatteras CPMY from the late 1980s is a classic American luxury yacht renowned for its durability, craftsmanship, and seaworthiness. Built by Hatteras Yachts, founded in 1959 in New Bern, North Carolina, the Hatteras 70 CPMY featured spacious interiors, multiple staterooms, and powerful engine options, making it ideal for extended cruising, offshore fishing, and entertaining. Built new in 1989, Nother Venture was delivered from the factory with an 8-foot hull extension, giving her a notably larger aft cockpit and enhanced deck space compared to standard models. In 2015, she underwent a comprehensive top-to-bottom refit, including complete GM engine rebuilds and numerous system upgrades. MAIN SALOON:

DINNING AREA:
Where was once the ship’s lower helm, has since been removed and converted to a beautiful dining room. The dinning booth sits where the original helm station was, and provides abundant seating, and breath-taking views from Nother Venture’s large windshield. A full bar complete with wine cooler, ice maker, and plentiful storage is also a highlighted feature. To port, a stainless-steel spiral staircase leads up to the flybridge. Located to port as well is another stairwell leading downward to the guest living quarters and machinery spaces.
AFT STAIRWELL TO MASTER SUITE:
Located to port and aft of the saloon is a stairwell leading down to the master suite. It features LVP flooring, an acrylic handrail, courtesy lighting, and built in storage. Once down the stairs, the companionway grants access to the walk-in engine room, master stateroom with king sized bed, master head with full tub, two walk in closets, and more.
MASTER STATEROOM:
The master stateroom aboard Nother Venture is quite large thanks to her wide beam. Featuring a king-sized bed, lots and lots of storage. 4 marine speakers embedded into the carpentry, along with a large flat screen TV provide entertainment. The master stateroom also features a walk-in closet (with safe) in addition to the walk-in closet in the companion way.
MASTER HEAD:
Located to starboard and forward of the master suite is the master head. It features a full-sized tub with shower, tiled flooring, Corian countertop, Raritan Elegance freshwater head, a His and Her’s sink, and opening portlights. The size of the master head rivals what one would find in any home with very few if any compromises.
To starboard of the dining area, a gently curving staircase leads down to the ship’s guest and crew quarters. The stairwell features a stainless-steel grab rail and courtesy lighting for safety. The forward living quarters feature a crew berth forward

GUEST STATEROOM (VIP):
Nother Venture’s second guest stateroom (also known as the VIP) is located aft of the crew quarters. It features a full bed, a full closet, and additional storage.
GUEST HEAD 2 (VIP):
Attached to the VIP guest stateroom is the VIP head. The VIP head is outfitted with a standup shower, Corian countertop, teak and holly flooring, a large vanity mirror, and a Raritan Elegance freshwater head.
To say that the engine room aboard Nother Venture is large is an understatement. Although there are twin Detroit Diesel 12V92TA’s, there is still abundant space due to the sheer volume of the engine room. With nearly 7’ of vertical clearance, fluorescent overhead lighting and a deep bilge, Nother Venture is very easy to navigate while doing inspections or performing maintenance and repairs. Fuel management systems, various DC and AC electrical panels, hot water heater and the fixed fire suppression system line the surrounding walls. 1000 hour serive completed.
SWIM PLATFORM:
The large swim platform serves as the ideal spot for conducting dinghy operations and boarding from the aft given its favorable location close to the water. A transom boarding gate separates the swim platform from the aft cockpit.
Nother Venture’s cockpit places the operator closer to the water line for ease of docking, boarding and line handling. Under past ownership, the cockpit was extended 8’, greatly enhancing its usability. A large teak cap rail surrounds the border. Recently, the cockpit has undergone maintenance to replace the flooring. While not yet finished, it is not far from completion.
FOREDECK:
The foredeck features forward facing bow seating, teak capped rails, Maxwell windlass, Lewmar anchor, and more.
BOAT DECK AND FLYBIRDGE:
This is where the party happens! The flybridge and boat deck are accessed via the stainless-steel ladder in the dining area. The views from this elevated position are fantastic and offer a great place to operate the ship. The space is fully enclosed and protected from the elements, as well as climate controlled.
