Description
The price has been drastically reduced to sell this spring. This popular cruiser/racer is well equipped.
Cal Yachts have a terrific performance cruising reputation and are some of the most sought after sailboats in the world. They feature strong, solid fiberglass hull construction and are very competitive in ocean racing.
The 1988 & 1989, C. Raymond Hunt Design Cal 39's are not at all like the earlier Lapworth Design Cal 39's (which are fine boats in their own right). This Cal more closely resembles the current Sabre 402 in its over-all quality construction and accouterments, design concept, interior layout and contemporary lines. Its new owner will experience superb sailing performance, a powerful sail plan, a fast and competent hull and roomy below deck livability that will rival many a larger boat.
She was built in 1988 within the last two years of production and therefore is one of the newer Cal Yachts available. She shows well with a clean, well-kept interior. The woodwork is extensive and in good condition, nice joinery with a hand-rubbed feel to it. The hull is solid glass and has great lines. The deck is wide, easy to walk and packed with upgraded performance gear like (6) heavy duty self-tailing winches, (6) sails, (6) instrument display heads and an oversized wheel. Nothing is spared in cruising comfort either: dodger, Bimini, chartplotter, radar, life raft and davits.
Ask about a 50% discounted slip at an upscale RI marina for new customers. Keep in mind that there is no sales or use tax for vessels berthed in RI. She is also close to 2 international shipping terminals. Please contact the listing broker for an appointment to see her and more information about slip discounts. Please see full specifications for additional information and photos.

I joined the Brewer Yacht Sales team in 1997 at the Brewer Sakonnet location and relocated in 1999 upon the opening of our Wickford Cove office. During my time with Brewers, I have won numerous awards including "Broker of the Year," "Customer Satisfaction," and most recently I received the "Team Work" award. I am a proud member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and a Certified Professional Yacht Broker. I place a high value on meticulous service and comprehensive knowledge of our products. I started my career in sales as a manufacturer's representative at 18 years old and continued to represent electronics distributors until I opened my own business buying and selling companies and their production equipment both domestically and abroad.
Introduced to boating as an infant, I can't recall a summer when we weren't water skiing, fishing, or sailing. My father was a Sales Manager for Mercury and we grew up in Rhode Island where I had opportunities to crew on sport-fishing boats and campaign-racing sailboats on a regular schedule. My lifetime on the water offers me the valuable experience necessary to facilitate new and practiced boaters alike with the purchase or sale of their next boat!
