Description
The Grand Banks 42 is easily the most successful trawler design ever produced. Although called a trawler, the Grand Banks does not have a trawler hull. Rather, she rides on a semi-displacement hull with a tall bow, hard chines, and a full keel which gives her a moderate 4'2" of draft. One of the most desirable features of Shirley Ruth is her roomy full-teak interior with the galley forward to port in the salon, opposite the lower helm. The master stateroom is aft and has a full size berth to starboard and a single to port. The forward stateroom has V-berths. Port and starboard doors provide deck access, and full walkaround decks make getting around easy and secure. She is powered by T-120 HP Lehman Diesels with 5200 hours and still going strong. Please check the Full Specs and call for an appointment to see her. She is located in Greenport NY.

About
Grand Banks Yachts – Timeless Elegance, Unmatched Craftsmanship
Since 1956, Grand Banks Yachts has been a benchmark in luxury yacht design and engineering, earning a reputation for their classic lines, impeccable craftsmanship, and superior seaworthiness. From their earliest days, Grand Banks has delivered yachts that stand the test of time, making them a top choice for discerning yachtsmen worldwide.
Grand Banks made waves with the iconic Grand Banks 36, the trawler that started it all in 1964. This groundbreaking design, known for its practical layout, efficiency, and seaworthiness, set the standard for their Heritage Series, which continues to delight cruising enthusiasts. The larger Grand Banks 42 also became a staple, celebrated for its spacious design and long-range capabilities.
In addition to the Heritage Series, the Eastbay Series brought a Downeast-inspired sporty style to the brand in the 1990s, with models like the Eastbay 38 and Eastbay 43 offering impressive performance and elegance. These yachts combined the charm of traditional styling with the power and speed modern owners demanded.
Today, Grand Banks’ modern lineup—including the Grand Banks 60, 54, and 85—seamlessly blends classic craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation. Featuring advanced materials, fuel-efficient V-Warp® hull designs, and luxurious interiors, these models set new benchmarks for comfort and performance. With the addition of the sleek and stylish Palm Beach Series, Grand Banks caters to those who crave contemporary designs and exceptional efficiency.

I gain a great deal of satisfaction working with boaters at Safe Harbor Mystic. Mystic is one of New England's beautiful coastal towns and a boaters paradise. The crew at Brewer Yacht Sales makes every transaction seamless. In addition to being a yacht broker, I am also a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB).Â
However, when Iâm not working on a boat deal, I enjoy offshore saltwater deep-sea fishing on my 42â Hatteras, âPowernap."
