Introducing the O. Lie-Neilsen 44 Cutter Rigged Aerial, a classic vessel built in 1979 commissioned in 1980 that embodies timeless craftsmanship and performance. With an overall length of 45 feet, this monohull features a robust cold molded fiberglass hull and full keel, ensuring stability and reliability on the water. Powered by a 42 HP Beta Marine diesel inboard engine, this boat is equipped for smooth sailing, boasting a direct drive system and a durable bronze 3 blade Max propeller. The Maxwell electric anchor windlass enchances convenience, making anchoring effortless. A spacious cabin with all the essentials amenties with a galley to port, a navigation station to starboard sette with seating, well appointed head with a V berth forward. Recent upgrades include: Standing and Running Rigging (2017) Evolution Sails (2019) fully battened Main Sail, Genoa, Staysail, Asymmertrical sail, a Beta Marine 42 HP Diesel auxiliary motor and fuel tank (2016) and B&G Marine Electronics along with having the decks and topsides awlgripped.
Aerial was designed by L. F. Herreshoff naval architect, built by the renown O. Lie-Neilsen yard in Rockland Maine that has built a number of classic sailing cold molded hull such as White Hawk. She is outfitted with carbon fiber mast and boom, total of 8 winches four are electric, main sheet, genoa/staysail sheet winches port and starboard, main halyard / Profurl / vang winch on top of cabin, electric Selden Furlex on the genoa (300E) and staysail (200E), Profurl on the main carbon fiber boom with manual back up. A 4 KW Fisher Panda diesel generator, 12000 BTU airconditioning system, Dickerson cabin heater and Force 10 galley propane stove and oven.
She is meticulously maintained by its owners at the Dutch Wharf Boat Yard, Branford, CT where she is prenently at her berth. Shown by appointment.
