Description
Sea Gull is a handsome, custom built 42' aluminum hulled flybridge powerboat designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates of Massachusetts and built in 1967 by the Derector Shipyard in Mamaroneck, NY. The boat has the famous Hunt deep V hull with hard chines. The hull construction is of aluminum plating over aluminum frames on 12" centers with staggered longitudinals. Decks and superstructure are of fiberglass covered plywood.
Inside she has a comfortable two stateroom interior layout that can sleep 7, a full galley and a head with a stall shower. The boat has lots of large windows, ten opening portlights and three large cabin top hatches. The salon aft bulkhead has four sliding doors that when all are open make the salon and cockpit one huge area. Outside the large cockpit has plenty of room, good storage and a large bench seat along the transom. A cockpit hatch provides access to the engine room eliminating the need to move salon furniture. Another cockpit hatch further aft provides access to the boat's generator, rudders etc. The flybridge has a full helm and all electronics are smartly protected inside opening cabinets. There is a pedestal captain's seat and two pedestal mates seats. Behind them additional seating is provided by a good size bench seat with a two-way folding backrest that can face either forward or aft.
The boat's twin Cummins diesels installed in 2001 provide an economical cruising speed of 19 knots.
Sea Gull is a unique, great looking boat. Her attractive lines turn heads wherever she goes. Her long-time current owner has always maintained her himself however his ageing knees now make that difficult for him. Her next owner will want to give her some overdue cosmetic work.

With a life-long passion for boats and the water much of what I've done in life has in one way or another involved boats. As a youngster, my family owned several boats which we kept in Branford, CT at the Indian Neck Yacht Club. After high school, I spent 15 years in the U.S. Coast Guard in which I spent 18 months in Alaska before returning to CT where I became certified as coxswain of Coast Guard search and rescue boats up to 44'.Â
After my Coast Guard service, I worked for 10 years in the wholesale marine equipment business where I supplied boatyards and marine dealers throughout Connecticut.Â
In 1983 I began selling new boats and have worked for two reputable Connecticut dealerships; 14 years at Milford Boat Works selling new Mako, Pursuit, Phoenix, Black Watch, Cape Dory, and North Coast powerboats plus O'Day, Cal, Pearson and Freedom sailboats. Then 14 years at Petzold's Marine selling new Sabre, Back Cove, Silverton, Mainship, Luhrs, Egg Harbor and Ocean powerboats. I now have a long, successful history of selling quality new boats.
In 2013, after 30 years of selling new boats I was ready for a change. I decided to concentrate exclusively on the brokerage boat market. I joined Brewer Yacht Sales, one of the Northeast's largest yacht brokerage firms. I've now been at Brewer Yacht Sales for over 12 years. I work out of three of Safe Harbor's largest Connecticut marinas: Pilots Point Marina in Westbrook, Bruce & Johnsons Marina in Branford and Stratford Marina in Stratford.
Buying or selling a yacht can be a comprehensive process and you should choose your broker carefully. I am proud of my reputation for honesty and my designation as a Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB). With 40 years and over 1200 boat sales transactions behind me, the knowledge and experience I've gained are invaluable when it comes to protecting my client's interests. Whether you are considering buying or selling, power or sail, I can help. I look forward to working with you.
