Introduction

The NEPTUNE'S RIDE is a 1986 model HATTERAS 43 Motor Yacht as produced by HATTERAS YACHTS of New Bern, NC from 1985 through 1987. She has the "Queen Berth Aft" layout and is powered by twin DD 6-71 TI's that are rated at 450 HP each. The engines have 1786 Total Time hours logged to date and approximately 665 hours since their rebuilds in 2004.

The NEPTUNE'S RIDE has had an extensive amount of work done and investments made in her behalf since 2019. The Owners are very accomplished as evidenced by the custom teak & holly sole installation throughout .. which is a distinct improvement over the usual carpet! All her systems have been thoroughly inspected and serviced. As her Owners have observed, "she's ready to go on another extended voyage .. right now!" Other improvements include the new canvas in 2019, a new custom swim platform, upgraded electronics and custom tile work in the Heads too. The NEPTUNE'S RIDE was purchased by her present Owners in the Summer of 2019. After improving their new HATTERAS 43 MY, they departed on a extended cruise in 2020 up to MA, back down to CT & then to FL and up to the Tampa area .. and then back to CT! After covering some 3000 miles as noted, the 2022 Season included some relatively light cruising to the Martha's VIneyard area, the NEPTUNE'S RIDE is now offered for brokerage sale as the Owners have accomplished their Bucket List for a Southern Cruise.

Propulsion

The NEPTUNE'S RIDE is powered by two DETROIT DIESEL 6-71 TI (Turbo Intercool) (2) stroke (6) cylinder marine diesels that are rated at 450 HP at 2,300 RPM. At a ICW modest cruise speed of 8-8.5 knots. the Owner reports a 7 GPH fuel consumption at 1,500 RPM. At WOT (Wide Open Throttle), a top end of some 17 or more knots can be anticipated depending on the wind & sea & the yacht's bottom conditions.

The engines were rebuilt in 2004. The starboard engine hour HOBBS Meter was replaced at that time and reads "1120.7" hours. This unit was retained it for reference. The present unit reads "664.7". The port engine HOBBS Meter is installed but "inop" showing some '1452" logged engine hours when it failed a number of years ago.
