Description

“Rozinante was the name of Don Quixote's steed. She was a long, thin animal but every time the Don mounted her he had remarkable adventures. Perhaps 7/8 of the romance of these adventures took place in Quixote's mind, for he was a great reader of romance who rather looked down on the times in which he lived. Like Don Quixote, every time one ventures out on in a Rozinante they will meet with great adventure and romance. Perhaps, also, 7/8 of it takes place in our minds, but each point that we round opens up new vistas with all sorts of possibilities. Each rock or shoal which we clear has its own adventures for us….”

Built in 1973 in Portland, Oregon by Hank Chamberlin, Petrel is an outstanding example L. Francis Herreshoff’s Rozinante design and available for those that wish to conjure up their own adventures in a classic double-ender that will slide thru the water in the lightest of breeze, gallop along when the wind becomes a bit frisky and sit quietly in a secluded anchorage at the end of a perfect day.

Well maintained, thought fully equipped and offered at a reasonable price Petrel is available for your inspection at any time. Call us to arrange a visit.
